I started using homeopathy after the birth of my first child in 1998. I had never heard of homeopathy before then – I gave her a pillule for problems with constipation when I was weaning her, and it completely sorted the problem. I then started having homeopathy for myself and saw the benefits on every level. However, the most fundamental thing is that it resolved my son’s asthma. I have a respiratory specialist nurse background and when I decided to treat him purely homoeopathically this was life changing so much so that I decided to train to be a homeopath in 2013.
I have a thriving practice in Harrogate where I live and also in Balham London which I go to every 2 months. I have treated approximately 550 clients since I qualified in 2017. I am a graduate of The Dynamis School of Advanced Homeopathy. I run First Aid Courses for young mums in my area and it is my aim to raise the profile of Homeopathy to the wider population.
I have always been involved in teaching since I became a nurse in 1983. I was asked by Mani to do some filming on his A&P courses, and I was delighted that when a tutor role became available, he asked if I would consider joining the SOH. I relish the opportunity of supporting someone to become a homeopath and the wealth of potential that has.
I have always used homeopathy to treat my family with acutes so the real reason for training to become a homeopath was mainly to support my family and friends. I realised the enormity of the potential of homeopathy in second year and ever since then I have been committed to raise the profile of what homeopathy can do. Initially I thought I could introduce it into my conventional role as a Respiratory nurse, how naive I was. I realised that I this is the reason I am here is to be a Homeopath and I am excited to dedicate my life to it.
I was born in Inverness but moved to Yorkshire when I was 6 months old. I trained and worked in London from 1983-1992 when I moved back to Yorkshire and Harrogate with my Husband. I have always been a natural girl never taking medication and always using natural products. I would say a Neals yard, cranks girl. I love the outdoors and always had dogs until recently. I like to keep fit and enjoy sport swimming; tennis recently started paddle. I have a lovely group of friends and have always been a keen cook. I love travelling and have recently been to Tanzania with HHA on a 2 week professional development programme – this seemed a very fitting way of leaving the NHS after 41 years to dedicate my life to homeopathy.
